Dr Mary Marshall is a Fellow of St Benet's Hall and the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Theology and Religion in the University of Oxford. Her research specialism is the canonical gospels.

Matthew's gospel contains some of the best known passages in the New Testament, including the Sermon on the Mount, but who was Matthew? Why does his gospel come first in the New Testament canon? Who was he writing for? Why did he write? These are some of the questions which we will explore in this informative session in the Old Library.
