Flower Team

The University Church of St Mary the Virgin attracts a wide range of visitors in large numbers throughout the year. The flower team works together to create arrangements that not only enhance the beauty of the liturgy, but help to create a welcoming atmosphere. There are normally two arrangements; in addition the paschal candle and the Advent wreath are seasonal features;  the rota is created to cover the periods of Christmas to Ash Wednesday, Easter to the end of July and August to Advent and each member of the team is responsible for the flowers approximately once a month, with a periodic month off.  The whole team comes together to decorate the whole church fully for Christmas, Easter and Harvest festival.
