Janie Bickersteth

Janie Bickersteth has spent the past twenty-five years involved in environmental campaigning, activism and community work. She is particularly interested in supporting more local food production (having been Chair of Incredible Edible Lambeth, where she enabled food growing on housing estates). She moved to Oxford in 2020 and continues to support both Lambeth and now Oxford in promoting local food as one solution to the climate crisis. 

Janie is working with SMV on the Ecochurch programme, supporting a whole congregation approach to living more lightly. She has worked on the Ecochurch programme in two previous churches, notably getting St James’s Piccadilly to Gold in 2018.

Janie is also a potter and Fine Artist.
