13th September 2026
5:00pm
St Cross Church, St Cross Road, OX1 3TP
The Revd Canon Prof William Whyte
The 9th century Church of St Cross is a hidden treasure within the parish of the University Church.  Tucked away between Longwall Street and St Catherine's college the former parish church now hosts Balliol College’s state-of-the-art Historic Collections Centre.

As part of the Oxford Preservation Trusts Oxford Open Doors weekend, on the 13 September at 5.00pm, this historic space will be used for worship once again.

With traditional music by the choir of the University Church, and a sermon by historian the Reverend Canon Professor William Whyte, this is an unmissable immersive opportunity to experience Oxford's rich history in-person.
