The programme includes music from all over Europe, spanning three centuries from Josquin to Monteverdi. Alongside motets by the likes of Byrd, Parsons and Palestrina, are settings of the four great Marian antiphons written by Victoria, Palestrina, Lassus and William Cornysh. The programme is crowned by Robert White’s magnificent setting of the Magnificat.
