Carols by Candlelight

Each year hundreds of people attend Carol Services at the University Church, culminating in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on the evening of the Fourth Sunday of Advent. This year, numbers will have to be limited and to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to attend a Carol Service, we will be offering three almost identical services on successive Sundays of Advent. We will celebrate the Christmas story by candlelight and listen to seasonal music by the wonderful University Church Choir. This service is ticketed and all proceeds go to support the work of the Porch, a day centre in Oxford providing support for the homeless and the vulnerably housed. We hope that you will come and join us and support this worthy cause.

The Porch is raising funds for a new centre for the homeless. It isn’t completed yet, but they are using it meanwhile for emergency provision for rough sleepers - a warm place where they can eat, access support and have a shower. For more information www.theporch.org.uk
