2pm – 4pm (rehearsal) | 5pm (evensong)
This is a chance to join the Choir of the University Church in singing glorious music for a service of Choral Evensong, in the church that by the twelfth century was already at the heart of the growing medieval university. The service was originally devised by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury, who reasserted his reformed views at the University Church on 21 March 1556. Evensong remains one of the most beautiful and precious gems of the Church of England. The music this evening will be directed by Dr Sam Teague, Vicar Choral, and Dr Michelle Castelletti, the festival director. The organist for the service will be James Brown.
If you are a singer, please register at the link below.
You do not need to book to attend the service, which starts at 5pm..
