Welcome to our volunteering page and thank you for visiting! Over 100 volunteers keep the University Church running day to day and are a vital part of our church community.
Why volunteer
There are many reasons to volunteer at the University Church including:
- contributing to the community
- gaining experience
- meeting people from all over the world
What volunteering involves
There are many different volunteering opportunities, including but not limited to:
- Welcoming visitors
- Helping with the Sunday services
- Working with children or students
- Guiding visitors
- Concert stewarding and many more
There are many different ways of getting involved in the community at St Mary's, and if you want to contribute to the life of our community, we would love to hear from you.
Recruitment process
If you are interested in volunteering, please email ana-maria.niculcea@universitychurch.ox.ac.uk in the first instance.
After expressing your interest, you will then be invited to have an initial chat with our Volunteering Coordinator and explore the range of opportunities for volunteering at the University Church. You can also find some information about these at the links below.
Once you have decided on what team you would like to join, you will be sent an application form, a request for references (if applicable). You will also be required to do the online Church of England safeguarding training to a level appropriate to the role or roles for which you are applying.
