Parish Pilgrimage

Date
Location
St Nicholas Islip

On Saturday 7th June, a group from St Mary’s will be marking the great feast of Pentecost with a pilgrimage from Islip to Oxford. The 10 mile walk starts in the historic church of St Nicholas, Islip, where St Edward the Confessor was baptised. A gentle walk through beautiful Oxfordshire countryside will bring us to Noke and Woodeaton, withits13th Century preaching cross. From there we go on to have lunch at the Victoria Arms in Marston, finishing with Evening Prayer at the University Church. We meet at 9am in Islip, and finish around 4pm at the University Church, although there will be opportunities to join en route if you don’t feel up for the whole walk.
