Storytelling is one of the fundamental activities that make us human. For as long as there have been communities, we have gathered together to tell stories – funny stories, scary stories, heroic stories, stories that tell us how to live our lives. But storytelling is an art: we have to learn how to do it. This half-day workshop is aimed at children aged 7-12 with a passion for stories, whether that is reading them, watching them, writing them or acting them out. Together we will explore some famous stories from the Bible and other cultures. We will learn about the basic building blocks that make stories work. We will spend time working on our own stories and have a chance to perform them for one another at the end of the morning. Refreshments will be provided. Parents are invited to stay – coffee and WiFi are available.
