Sunday 18 January | 12noon - 1.00pm | Old Library

In a world dominated by digital interactions, the ethics of online engagement are under the microscope. This talk introduces pressing issues: the rise of AI and its threat to privacy, tech giants like Google and Meta straying from their public benefit missions, the environmental toll of massive data storage, and the challenges of intellectual property in an era of dwindling support for the Arts & Humanities. Against a backdrop of economic instability and global conflict, we’ll explore how individuals and institutions can navigate these ethical minefields and foster responsible digital practices. This talk will also consider the ethical implications of our digital footprint as a Church and as part of the University.

Ana-Maria Niculcea is in charge of Communications & Marketing at the University Church, bringing over a decade of expertise in navigating the digital landscape.
