Towards Peace in the Middle East

Wednesday 5 February | Old Library | 5.30pm-7.00pm

British imperial policy bears much responsibility for decades of conflict between Israel and Palestine. A panel will discuss the role Britain can play towards resolving this conflict. It will comprise Dr Tony Klug, special advisor on the Middle East to the Oxford Research Group, historian Dr Peter Shambrook, author of ‘Policy of Deceit: Britain and Palestine 1914-1939’, and Dr Imad Karam, award-winning documentary film-maker, who comes from Gaza. The panellists are all working for peace with justice, security and equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis.
