The Revd Sue Stevens is an honorary chaplain to the University Church 

She was ordained priest in Birmingham in 2001 and served her titles there and in a rural benefice in the Diocese of Bath & Wells. Subsequently, she was appointed assistant priest in the same benefice and part time chaplain to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Before ordination, Sue trained as a nurse at St Mary’s Hospital, London and subsequently as a health visitor in Oxford. She has lived and worked in Manchester, Jamaica, Toronto, Birmingham and Somerset and was a research nurse in Sickle Cell disease working between the Universities of Birmingham and Oxford. She is a Relate counsellor and has also volunteered with charities in Birmingham and Bristol working with female street sex workers. 

Following retirement, Sue and her husband Mike returned to Oxford after an interval of 40 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
